WeightTel is a telemedical body weight monitoring and management system. It is used to provide complete, simple documentation of body weight as well as additional information. Users include overweight or obese people and people affected by metabolic conditions. But it can of course also be used by anyone who simply wants to document their efforts for preventive reasons or because they have been advised to change their lifestyle. A further group of users are home dialysis patients, for whom a medically accurate before/after weight comparison is crucial.
The system consists of three components that are used together in an integrated process:
- WeightTel (Body scales with Bluetooth technology)
- BodyTel Mobile (Mobile app for compatible cell phones) and/or the
BodyTel Gate (static home gateway) - BodyTel Center (Online portal with patient records at www.bodytel.com)
The WeightTel system is available in two versions – WeightTel and WeightTel Pro. While WeightTel is a „normal“ electronic personal scale, WeightTel Pro is a scale which has been approved in accordance with the Medical Devices Directive (certified calibration class III, Medical Devices Directive class 1).
