Science and research often lack of a valid basis of data for their projects. The test subjects must therefore always be sworn to strictly comply with the guidelines and to document every measurement of their vital values. But does this procedure actually work in practice?

For this purpose, BodyTel offers an integrated basis of measuring devices (for blood glucose, blood pressure, and weight), suitable transfer stations (home gateway or cell phone), and a secure database in which all patient data are combined. Automated and complete documentation of all measured values is this ensured. Manual entry of additional information is also easily possible for patients, as this can be done in various different ways (on a PC, cell phone, or home gateway).

Researchers can thus have access to the measured values for their test subjects and can thus use valid real-time data. Alarms can also be sent automatically in the event of significant changes in the values. To access the data, scientists of course require the consent of the patient to be included in the design of the research, as only the patient can authorize others to view his/her data.
