BodyTel offers patients an integrated system of measuring devices, suitable transfer stations (home gateway or cell phone), and online record, with which all measured values relating to their chronic illnesses can be documented completely, automatically and in real time. In this way, patient compliance can be increased, in cooperation with doctors. Increased compliance can lead to the avoidance of secondary illnesses and thus to a significant reduction in costs.

BodyTel devices can play an important role in disease management programs (DMP). The devices can help patients live with their illness, can help the doctor with treatment and diagnosis, and thus have a positive influence on the progression of measured values. Consequently, cost reductions for the health insurance fund are possible, as serious complications (e.g., hospitals stays) and secondary illnesses may be avoided if the illness progresses positively.

Access to patient data is of course not possible for data protection reasons, i.e., without the patient’s consent, the health insurance fund will not find out anything about the patient’s measured values or any other parameters or information. Only the patient can authorize access to the online record, e.g., as part of a DMP.
