Hospitals

Hospitals perform important tasks in the treatment of patients with chronic illnesses:

Firstly, diagnosis and adjustment to life with the chronic illness frequently take place in hospitals, meaning that doctors are the first people to have contact with the newly diagnosed patient. Patients should be able to live independently as quickly as possible while at the same time still feeling safe.

BodyTel offers measuring devices, which, as part of an integrated system, help patients record and fully document measured values relating to their illness. The patient can thus become familiar with their illness more quickly and be allowed to return home sooner. On the basis of remote monitoring, doctors can continue to support patients in the initial period following their return home and, if necessary, make corrective adjustments remotely, without having to take new measurements.

On the other hand, hospitals also treat patients in problem or emergency situations. In the case of diabetes mellitus and heart problems, the precise progression of values before hospitalization is important. Therefore it is ideal if the patient can bring complete documentation with them. In practice, the documentation often proves to be incomplete or erroneous, which can make treatment more difficult. Merely providing lists and tables that have been hand-written or simply updated on a home PC often presents a problem in emergency situations which can be solved by keeping an online record.

With the integrated measurement and management systems from BodyTel, the patient has control of his/her data. All the patient has to do is authorize the doctor to view the online record. This contains all previous measured values, as well as all other information entered by the patient such as sporting activities, diet, and other information relevant to treatment.
